Coming Out Again and Again

Posted on Feb 11, 2013

Just as popular celebrities like Jodie Foster and Anderson Cooper have stated publicly in the past year, I came out years ago to friends and family. It was pretty much a non-event. But as I reach an age where that date was 20 years ago I have to ask myself as a soul-searching man with some amount of integrity and authenticity; Do I need to come out as a gay man instead of just a man? In principle, I am against the idea of identifying as gay. It is an identity that is a social construction, one that was not created from gay people but by others as a way to separate what was judged in many ways as inferior to one who is sexually attracted to the opposite sex, gets married...

Pluto, You Fiery Devil!

Marilyn Monroe: One Astrological Interpretation

Posted on Jun 1, 2012

On a soul level, her goal was to become a genius, a revolutionary soul – to heal through intimate relationships with others. These descriptors are examples of archetypes, forms from our unconscious selves that come through when we are challenged by fate to respond to the people, places and things that happen in our lives. When Marilyn was ignoring the...

Elizabeth Taylor from an Evolutionary Astrology Perspective

Posted on May 18, 2012

As a way to illustrate Evolutionary Astrology in a sample reading I thought I would highlight a karmic moment in the life of Elizabeth Taylor. She was a Pisces with a Scorpio Moon and Sagittarius Ascendant. From 30,000 feet looking down, her lifetime was about becoming a goddess: poetic and risk-taking. The lunar nodes tell the karmic story. With a South Node in Virgo, 9th house she brought a sense of internalized shame and guilt due to some kind of rigid culture or religious belief system. She perhaps punished herself when this karma was activated. Add Mercury as the ruler of Virgo and we learn from its Pisces placement in her 3rd house that she was likely some kind of...
